PERSONAL PROFILE
Can an opera singer be both a diva AND down to earth? Those who know Lori Fredrics will say that it is possible. Although Lori's work has taken her all over the world, she still stays close to her roots in the New Jersey town where she grew up. The daughter of a tailor/ designer from Berlin and a Greenwich Village bohemian artist and professional dancer, Lori grew up understanding the arts and culture organically. She sang professionally before she took her first lesson and instinctively understood the voice before she devoted years of study in order to teach it. The wife of award-winning composer Howard Fredrics, she has been privileged to collaborate with him artistically and bring his works to the public.
With interests that range from classical music and theatre, to the avant garde to popular music and jazz, Lori keeps challenging her students and herself to higher levels of artistic excellence and an understanding of the human condition.
